Member Programs
A membership in the East Bay Chamber shouldn’t stop at paying dues. The Chamber has created many Member and Educational Programs to help you promote your business and learn more about running a successful company in the East Bay area. We have also enacted money-saving affinity programs in partnership with local member businesses.
We have partnered with Citadel Broadcasting, Glacial Energy, and East Commerce Solutions to provide affinity programs designed to lower operating and advertising costs for our members. New members to the East Bay Chamber receive a $500 coupon toward advertising with Citadel Broadcasting, and renewals receive a $350 coupon. Members of the East Bay Chamber can take advantage of our partnership with Glacial Energy, a third-party
energy supplier, to get significant savings on their electric bill. East Commerce Solutions is providing a guaranteed savings of at least 10% on merchant service fees.
Our Member-2-Member discount program was designed specifically to stimulate member to member commerce. When you become a member, you instantly have access to dozens of discounts at other member businesses. If you choose to offer a discount, you are placed on a list that is updated and inserted in every newsletter.
Bay Bucks is a gift certificate program that allows people to buy a gift certificate at the Chamber office for use at any participating business. When a certificate holder makes a purchase at one of the businesses, the amount is refunded to the participating business by the Chamber.
Free publicity can be generated for a new, renovated, or relocated business with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Chamber gathers a group of members and goes to your open house for the ribbon cutting. Pictures of the ceremony are published in the bi-monthly newsletter.
The G.E.M. (Going the Extra Mile) Employee Award is an award program that was enacted to recognize Chamber businesses for having outstanding customer service. The award garners recognition by other Chamber members and the community, and the recipients are published in the bi-monthly newsletter and the bi-monthly Chamber Connection in East Bay Newspapers.
As well as promotional programs, we also offer education to our members in the form of free counseling for new and existing businesses provided by both the RI Small Business Development Center and SCORE, referral to local, state, and federal business development programs, demographics, location/relocation assistance, and education videos. The Chamber hosts many educational seminars and workshops, such as the Marketing Toolkit Series, and the Women in
Business Series. The Chamber also employs a lobbyist to promote and monitor Chamber interests in local, state, and federal affairs.
