What is the East Bay Chamber of Commerce?
   The East Bay Chamber of Commerce is a private, not-for-profit Corporation made up of men and women dedicated to preserving the competitive enterprise system of business, promoting business and community growth and development.

What are the goals of the East Bay Chamber of Commerce?
   The staff, Board and committee members of the East Bay Chamber of Commerce provide a wide range of services to its members and constantly support the economic health of its members and the entire community while maintaining quality of life in the region. To promote economic growth and development, the Chamber institutes programs which to members and the community alike.

Who belongs to the East Bay Chamber of Commerce?
   The East Bay Chamber of Commerce is comprised of a well-rounded group of manufacturers, innkeepers, restaurateurs, educators, lawyers, nurses and many other professional men and women in a vast array of industries. The Chamber's membership is currently 600 members strong.

Why should I become a member?
   Chamber membership allows members the opportunity to work collectively and accomplish goals that otherwise they could not accomplish alone. For example, networking is one of the foremost reasons people join, knowing that this is one of the best ways to introduce your business to potential new clients.

What types of programs and services does the East Bay Chamber offer its members?
   The Chamber offers traditional networking opportunities such as Business After Hours, annual dinner, and fundraising events to maximize the exposure of members to other members. We also offer training seminars, discounts for Beacon Mutual Worker's Compensation Insurance, health and dental insurance, Member-to-Member Discount Program, advertising opportunities, introducing your business to visitors and newcomers in packets which are mailed, and more.

Does the Chamber offer health or dental insurance?
   We offer many Blue Cross Blue Shield plans, United Health Care and Delta Dental.

How can I get the most out of my Chamber membership?
   To get the most of your membership, become involved! Attend the networking functions to expose your business to other Chamber members, join a committee to work closely with other members and give us feedback of your business needs and how we can meet them.

How can the Chamber help me promote my business?
   The Chamber offers its members many advertising opportunities. Members may place an insert in the Chamber's newsletter promoting their business to all other members. Members may elect to rent a tabletop at Business After Hours upon which they would set up brochures, goods or any other items to promote their business for exposure to all in attendance. Or, simply attending events makes your business more visible to other Chamber members, and because the Chamber's theory of shopping local, especially within the membership is also a belief of many members, this may prove to be a most valuable marketing tool.

Where is the East Bay Chamber of Commerce located?
   The Chamber's office is located in the middle of the East Bay region at 16 Cutler Street in Warren, RI.

How does it operate?
   The Chamber is a non-profit volunteer organization. A 27-member Board of Directors and a 9-member Executive Board of officers and at large members govern it. The Board determines the policy and procedures of the Chamber. The President, who is employed by the Board, is charged with the management and administrative affairs of the Chamber.
Committees are appointed by the Chairman and are responsible to the Board.

How is it funded?
   The Chamber is not an agency of government and receives no tax dollars. Its operating budget is funded entirely by the investment of its members, program income and yearly fund-raising events.
