Colt State Park | East Bay Chamber of Commerce | Warren, RIColt State Park section
of the East Bay Bike Path
Recreational opportunities abound in the East Bay. Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island's best-kept secret until recently, is a major source of fun and recreation, and the East Bay is home to town beaches, playgrounds, and a variety of parks. Magnificent and historical, Colt State Park is perhaps the most well-known. Offering a splendid view of the Bay, it is a favorite for boating, hiking, fishing, picnicking and bicycling. During the summer months the Bay is continually speckled with boats of all sizes and descriptions. Rent a kayak, canoe, or book a cruise and enjoy the miles of coastline and rivers that make the East Bay a destination for water-goers.

Bicyclists will enjoy the unhindered cycling and constantly changing scenery provided by the East Bay Bicycle Path, a 14.5-mile paved trail that follows an inactive railroad track. The natural beauty of the East Bay can also be appreciated on a quarter-mile walk along the Boardwalk at the Audubon Society’s Environmental Education Center. Enjoy vistas of the Narragansett Bay as the boardwalk crosses the Bike Path and meanders through brackish wetlands. Venture up Poppasquash Road to Coggeshall Farm, a living history museum dating back to the 1790’s, complete with heirloom gardens and livestock. Enjoy panoramic views of Mt. Hope and Narragansett Bays on the walking trails at Mt. Hope Farm, stand under the Linden trees that are the namesake of Linden Place, the former home of General George DeWolf, or take in Blithewold Mansion, Gardens & Arboretum -- a Queen Ann-style mansion on 33-acres of beautifully landscaped grounds.

East Bay shop | East Bay Chamber of Commerce | Warren, RIOne of the East Bay's many
distinctive shops
A day of recreation may also come in the form of shopping in the East Bay's many well-kept, unique stores and dining at one of our favorite restaurants. There are hundreds of shops, galleries and eateries to meet your every need and fancy.

For those with a lure toward competition, each town provides ample organized activities for all age groups. Sailboat racing is taken very seriously in the East Bay. Each year the bay hosts regattas and races of various classics of large and small vessels. Yachting history is recalled at the Herreshoff Marine Museum and America’s Cup Hall of Fame on the waterfront in Bristol. Golfers will find appeal in one of our country clubs. Tee off, hit the pro shops or enjoy a meal in the clubhouse. The beauty of the area will be enough to convince anyone to play through 18 holes!
