MIDDLETOWN, RI - October 13, 2017 - People's Credit Union, with the help of member and employee donations, recently raised $1,041 for CUAid, a program started by the National Credit Union Foundation to provide assistance during disaster situations. Throughout the month of September, all six People's Credit Union branches had collection containers where members and employees could donate to CUAid. The credit union also held a "Casual for a Cause" day where employees can donate for the opportunity to dress down for the day to help raise additional funds for hurricane disaster relief. "Credit unions were founded on the philosophy of people helping people," said Ellen Ford, President and CEO of People's Credit Union. "We have all seen the devastating effects of the recent hurricanes, and although we may not be able to make it down to each of the affected areas to help provide relief, People's Credit Union is still committed to help. We want to thank our members and employees for their support of this program."
